Story of the Year is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1995 under the name 67 North. The band was eventually changed their name Big Blue Monkey in 1998 and the subsequently changed it again to Story of the Year in 2002 after the release of their EP titled Story of the Year on the indie label Criterion Records, after they realized a blues group of the name Big Blue Monkey had already existed.
The Constant is the fourth studio album by American rock band Story of the Year. It was released on February 16, 2010 through Epitaph Records, and like the band's previous record, was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette who has also produced albums by Alter Bridge, Chevelle, Escape the Fate, blessthefall, Fact, and A Change of Pace. This is the last studio album to feature bassist Adam Russell who left the band in 2014.

The band’s new album Wolves drops Friday, December 8th. Dare I say it is their best album to date. Die-hard fans will rejoice in the fact they kept true to the sound and who the band is at the core. What makes this album so much more? The passion that manifests in the lyrics as much as it does in the music. There is a profound deepness, painting a picture of what life can throw at you and what those situations and moments can make you see and feel. Bang Bang in the vein of How Can We Go On as far as having a hard and heavy sound. I love the way Story of the Year can mesh hard rock and alternative music with such heartfelt passion, not just through the music, but through their lyrics, telling a story that each of us experience in our own way. When it’s all said and done, I stand by words that this is Story of the Year’s best album – to date.
Story Of The Year then enlisted high profile producer in the form of Aaron Sprinkle as well as mixers Tom Lord Alge & J Hall to help complete what would be their fifth LP. That record would eventually become known as 2017’s ‘Wolves‘, an at the most decent and very safe record for Story Of The Year to return with after being away for almost seven years. Also, as this is an album directly funded by longtime, die-hard fans of the band, that’s who this record is solely aimed at: the sycophantic fans who stuck by the group throughout the years and those who waited for a new release to finally unfold. Whether or not it was good, bad or even at all necessary.
