Though there are traces of the electric guitar sound Zappa employed, and elements of the ionosphere electronic music Varèse patented, these inferences tell only a small portion of the tale. In-concert recordings of performances in Liege, Belgium, and Baarle Nassau, The Netherlands showcase this retro-fusion quartet, with the modern tenor saxophone of Switzerland's Markus Stauss front and center.
The multi-national ensemble TRANK ZAPPA GRAPPA IN VARESE (TZGIV hereafter) is a constellation, featuring Swiss saxophone virtuoso Markus Stauss and Belgian musicians Damien Champion, Laurent Delchambre and Michel Delville, the last two also active in fusion band The Wrong Object. TZGIV is a side project for all the participants, and it has so far issued two official albums and one demo CD-R, all of them live recordings. More Light" is the first of its official productions and was released by the Swiss label Fazzul Music in 2008.

Zappa decided to seek out Varèse's music. The opening track on Freak Out!. The Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004) writes: "Frank Zappa dabbled in virtually all kinds of music-and, whether guised as a satirical rocker, jazz-rock fusionist, guitar virtuoso, electronics wizard, or orchestral innovator, his eccentric genius was undeniable. Even though his work drew inspiration from many different genres, Zappa was seen as establishing a coherent and personal expression.
