Never Say Die! is the eighth studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath, released in September 1978. It was the last studio album with the band's original lineup and also the last studio album to feature original vocalist Ozzy Osbourne until the 2013 album 13. It was certified Gold in the . on 7 November 1997 and as of November 2011 sold 133,000 copies in the United States since the SoundScan era. Critics called it unbalanced, scattering its energy in too many directions.
Never Say Die! is the eighth studio album by Black Sabbath, released in September 1978. It was the last studio album with the band’s original line-up and also the last studio album to feature original vocalist Ozzy Osbourne until 2013’s 13. The album marked the end of an era, the band members were all addicted to heavy drugs, with Ozzy even in a worse situation – being kicked off of the group after the release. The record is considered by many the worst.
Don’t they ever have to worry Don’t you ever wonder why It’s a part of me that tells you Oh, don’t you ever Don’t ever say die Never, never, never say die. Sundays satisfaction Madness on the rise Truth is on the doorstep Welcoming the lies All dressed up in sorrow Got no place to go Hold tight do it right Taking it slow. Each song so is so varied and they really up the music on this. I love the jazzy stuff and it’s too bad this was their last album because to me, they were getting into some amazing music that could’ve sustained them for years.
Never Say Die! is the last Black Sabbath studio album to feature Ozzy Osbourne on lead vocals until 2013’s 13. (Osbourne went on to record Blizzard of Ozz with guitarist Randy Rhoads, while Sabbath teamed up with Rainbow singer Ronnie James Dio and released Heaven and Hell. Osbourne had even left Black Sabbath after his father’s death and been replaced before returning for the recording sessions of Never Say Die! in Toronto
Black Sabbath's Never Say Die! is a quite underrated record and at the same time the end of an era since it's the band's last output with the original line-up. Some records that followed this one were great and even better than this release but I don't really consider them Black Sabbath albums. In 1978, Black Sabbath released their final album with Ozzy (for a long time) with 'Never Say Die!'. The band pretty much continued their experimentation with "softer" rock songs, much like on 'Technical Ecstasy', which was released two years prior to 'Never Say Die!'. As we all know, Black Sabbath had always made sure not to release the same album twice, so if you think that 'Sabotage' and 'Technical Ecstasy' were experimental, then think again, because 'Never Say Die!' takes it a step further.
Never Say Die! went gold in November 1997, more than 19 years after it was released and is still widely considered the least successful album of the original Ozzy era right above or below (depending on who you talk to) Technical Ecstasy. In 2013, Black Sabbath released 13, their first studio album with Osbourne on vocals in 35 years
