Ready Steady Go! is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Drake Bell. It marks his third release on an independent record label, and his first for Surfdog Records. The album is Bell's first album in almost eight years, following It's Only Time, which was released in 2006. Originally slated for an early 2013 release, Ready, Steady, Go! was released on April 22, 2014. The lead single, "Bitchcraft", was released on January 28, 2014.
Whereas "I gotta go" in AE means "I have to go", "I got to go" (distinctly pronounced) means "I was able/allowed/given the opportunity to g. Barbra's concert was sold out, but my friend had an extra ticket, so I got to go after all. In the present tense: Whenever my mother bakes a cake I get to lick the spoons. It's really a very simple point I'm making and you've just helped me make it. First, let's stipulate that I have to go and I've got to go are completely synonymous. If we then accept, as you rightly pointed out, that in the latter formulation "have has no meaning whatsoever," there is simply no reason to say I've got to go instead of I have to go or even more simply, I must go. It's a convoluted, archaic and - for non-English speakers - confusing structure that just needs to go by the wayside.

But it would take an entirely hapless band to go an entire album without stumbling into a few sparks, and Nada Surf find limited success in the purty harmonies of "Blizzard of 77" and the raucous "Treading Water". Too bad these, and the other ten mid-tempo tunes on Let Go, are gleefully shined into harmless linoleum by the mixing board of Bryce "SuperSheen" Goggin, the only man who can lay claim to ruining albums by both Pavement and Phish. Perhaps the only thing I can't give Nada Surf the old kick-while-down for is the rather unfortunate.
