Robert Burns is more than Scotland's national poet. With Shakespeare, Burns is an icon for the UK and Scotland he is a national symbol. This volume of poems and songs is a best selling. There is also a welcomed glossary to give understanding to Scottish and old school words. Beautifully bound and running at over 460 pages. A great hardcover testament to Scotland's Bard. The only problem I might have found was a poem towards the end on page 438, Mally's Meek, Mally's Sweet, it ends with a comma. I'm not sure if there is another line missing, or it should be a period, or if it's intentional. 2 people found this helpful.
