Angel Eyes is an album by saxophonist Gene Ammons compiling sessions recorded in 1960 and 1962 and released on the Prestige label in 1965. The latter set was one of Ammons' final ones before serving a long prison sentence (drug-related), yet his interpretations are full of optimism. Gettin' Around" (Gene Ammons) – 6:46.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ammons studied music with instructor Walter Dyett at DuSable High School. Ammons began to gain recognition while still at high school when in 1943, at the age of 18, he went on the road with trumpeter King Kolax's band.

Despite that fact it became a big hit for him. Frank Wess joined Gene on the frontline, playing tenor and flute, and organist Johnny "Hammond" Smith was also on the date.
