Composition by Peter Madsen played with genius Brazilian guitarist/singer Toninho Horta for Minor Music in 1992.
Peter Madsen was born in Racine, Wisconsin where he began his classical piano studies at the age of eight. At thirteen he became interested in jazz and started to play professionally three years later. In 1978 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Music Education, after which he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to concentrate on developing his jazz piano skills through intensive practice and a bursting schedule of gigs, composing and teaching. In 1980 Peter moved to New York City. Since then Madsen has played with an array of great jazz musicians, performing extensively in Europe and Japan and recording with Benny Golson, Stanley Turrentine, Joe Lovano, Kenny Garrett, Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker and many others. Peter has written over 350 compositions of which more than 100 have been recorded.

Peter Madsen is an American jazz pianist. Early life - Madsen was born in Racine, Wisconsin, where he started playing classical piano at eight years old and classical double bass at age ten. At thirteen he started to play the piano in the jazz idiom. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau. His album The Voice released on ATO Records includes the popular track "Weeping", recorded with Josh Groban and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Vusi joined Mambazo for their October–November UK tour in 2004, again for their 2007 UK tour, again from October to November 2007, he and other South African musicians took part in the 2002 documentary Amandla!
