The album included a few songs that originally appeared on Froggystyle, a self-released cassette that was recorded before their debut album, The Presidents of the United States of America. and how very punk this album is. I've decided that this album, as far as I know, has slipped by most people as one of the most underappreciated albums of the past 10 years. The first track, Kitty, is a great opening track. The opening guitar has a nice indie punk feel to it. The lyrical style is established with great lyrics, disguised as dumb. It's about a guy who wants to touch the kitty as his feet.

For Peaches, if you just Google ‘Marxist interpretation of Peaches,’ up pops this treatus and somebody has, this has been the internet for years and years. We agreed that the song needed an ending. I was listening to Neil Young at the time, particularly the album Ragged Glory, and I wrote that part on the spot going for a heavy, dissonant, chugging Neil sort of thing, along the lines of the song Fuckin' Up. Where the rest of their Seattle brethren traded in heavy guitars and heavy angst, the Presidents rejected torment for humor, writing short, simple, and absurd punk songs that relied more on goofy attitude than sludgy riffs and tormented screams. It was a formula that worked, as the group's self-titled debut album became a double-platinum record much to the surprise of many critics, music industry insiders, and the band itself. Childhood friends Chris Ballew (lead vocals, two-string basitar) and Dave Dederer (three-string guitbass, backing vocals) played in a number of groups and projects. In the spring of 1994, they released their eponymous debut album on Pop Llama Records.
With a rousing intro asking us if we are 'prepared to rock,' we are sucked into a chaotic, twisted world of fun punk-rock that the Presidents enjoy so very much. With the clever, dare we call it a love song, "Lunatic To Love," we are introduced to the fast-paced three chord powerhouse we have come to enjoy. The name & depicts this album perfectly. This is the Presidents' second CD; and in turn is their second best. And although their self-titled debut may be slightly better than this release, II is still an excellent album.
