1973 Выпускает альбом Innervisions (в переводе с англ. - Внутренние видения ), совершенно феноменальный по своему художественному уровню.
2005 Последний на данный момент студийный альбом A Time to Love вышел в 2005 году. Пластинка дебютировала сразу на пятом месте американского поп-чарта.
Fans of the love album Talking Book can marvel that he sets the bar even higher here, with brilliant material like the tenderly cathartic and gloriously redemptive "Joy Inside My Tears," the two-part, smooth-and-rough "Ordinary Pain," the bitterly ironic "All Day Sucker," or another classic heartbreaker, "Summer Soft. His only subsequent record of the '70s was the similarly gargantuan but largely instrumental soundtrack Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants. Track Listing - Disc 1. Sample.
Songs in the Key of Life is the eighteenth album by American recording artist Stevie Wonder, released on September 28, 1976, by Motown Records, through its division Tamla Records. It was the culmination of his "classic period" albums. The album was recorded primarily at Crystal Sound studio in Hollywood, with some sessions recorded at the Record Plant in Hollywood, the Record Plant in Sausalito, and The Hit Factory in New York City. Final mixing was performed at Crystal Sound.
Includes "Isn't She Lovely". Songs in the Key of Life (1976) was the highest high point of Stevie Wonder's career. More sprawling than Innervisions and Talking Book, this two-LP-plus-EP was also less of a consistent stunner than either of those masterworks. He never approached these heights again.
A highly ambitious and experimental double LP, Songs in the Key of Life became the best-selling and among the most critically acclaimed albums of his career. As of 1976, Stevie Wonder had become one of the most popular figures of R&B and pop music, not only in the United States but worldwide. Within a short space of time, the albums Talking Book, Innervisions and Fulfillingness' First Finale were all back-to-back Top 5 successes, with the two latter winning Grammy Award for Album of the Year, in 1974 and 1975 respectively.
The magnum opus of Stevie Wonder, this epic double LP that spans almost one hour and a half is one of the most influential and acclaimed albums of all time. It reached position on the Billboard 200, won multiple Grammys including Album of the Year, was voted as the best album of the year in The Village Voice’s annual Pazz & Jop critics poll and is consistenly ranked as one the greatest albums of all times. Tracklistings come from MusicBrainz. org By 1972, Steveland Hardaway Judkins was sick of the soubriquet 'Little' Stevie Wonder. Having showered Berry Gordy's Motown label with chart gold dust throughout the 60s the wunderkind finally took a leaf from the civil rights-related empowerment of black people in the USA and decided to make a stand (much as labelmate Marvin Gaye had). To sum up the breadth of this album (which also came with an extra EP to show how overflowing was the man's muse at this point) would take an essay.
My immediate impression of Songs in the Key of Life is that the album has none of the pinched, overwrought, overre-fined quality one might expect from material that’s been coddled and polished over a period of two years. If there are scattered traces of icy, brittle perfection, the overall feeling is expansive, spontaneous and startlingly immediate. The material itself varies so widely that even after weeks of listening it’s difficult to get a critical fix on. This is one of the album’s pleasures - I found myself constantly discovering and falling in love with new cuts I’d somehow overlooked.
