This is the third incarnation of Clockwork Angels. First there was the Rush album, then the novel by Kevin J. Anderson, and now this, with illustrations by Nick Robles. I think the album is tremendous, and the novel was a lot of fun, especially given all the Rush easter eggs throughout. The graphic novel, however, suffers in comparison, and the reason is clear: The story simply is not strong enough, and this format exposes those weaknesses

Ships from and sold by books-fyi. Incidentally, besides the story of the album, Anderson makes sly references to earlier Rush songs, including "Time Stand Still" and "Mystic Rhythms. It's fun to come across and recognize them. My only gripe with the book is the transportation system that has airships also using railroad tracks; I could never make sense of it.

The library of songs (20 studio albums now) is so rich, covering so many thematic landscapes and so many moods, it was a large treasure chest for me to draw from.
In Clockwork Angels and some of your books you've touched upon a steampunk motif. Can you explain that and why are you attracted to it? I grew up fascinated by the work of Jules Verne and HG Wells, and I added those ingredients into my fantasies - steam-engine cars, hot-air balloons, clanking automatons, chemistry that worked more like magic than science. I myself just recorded my first professional audiobook, a short science-fiction novel I wrote last year but because so much is out there, it's even harder to get noticed.
