Max Miller, Britain’s top comedian in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s was born in Brighton, England. He excelled as a stand-up comic playing in large variety theatres where his skill was such that he could hold an audience in the ‘palm of his hand’. He also made films, wrote and sang his own songs. Max was renown for telling risqué jokes. He used innuendo and when on stage would woo his audience particularly the ladies. Much of his material was too blue for broadcasting.
Thomas Henry Sargent (21 November 1894 – 7 May 1963), best known by his stage name Max Miller and also known as "The Cheeky Chappie", was an English comedian who was widely regarded as the greatest stand-up comedian of his generation. He made films, toured in revues and music hall, and sang and recorded songs, some of which he wrote. He was known for his flamboyant suits, his wicked charm, and his risqué jokes which often got him into trouble with the censors.
Malcolm James McCormick (January 19, 1992 – September 7, 2018), known professionally as Mac Miller, was an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Miller began his career in the city's hip hop scene in 2007, at the age of fifteen. In 2010, he signed a record deal with Pittsburgh-based independent label Rostrum Records, with whom he had his breakthrough with the mixtapes . 2010) and Best Day Ever (2011).

Read about Cheeky Chappie (Live) from Max Miller's Music Hall Memories and see the artwork, lyrics and similar artists. 1. Max Miller (November 21, 1894 – May 7, 1963), the "Cheeky Chappie", was a 1930s English music hall comedian famous for his daringly risqué (for the period) repertoire (see Censorship) and gaudy suits. Born in Hereford Street, Brighton as Thomas Henry Sargent, Miller became notorious for his double entendre based humour, which at the time saw him banned from the BBC on more than one occasion. His jokes were ostensibly written in two notebooks, a white notebook for 'clean' humour, and a blue one for 'adult' jokes.
